Gatrad Engineeing Corporation (GEC) has made its modest beginning in 1983, in the field of Instrumentation. GEC became the first NABL (National Accreditation Board for testing and calibration Laboratories) Accredited calibration Laboratory in the field of Dimensional Metrology, as per ISO/IEC-Guide 25 and NABL-101, in March'2000. The same was re-accredited as per new International standard for Laboratory Accreditation criteria, ISO/IEC-17025 (1999) and than ISO/IEC-17025 (2005) in the field of Dimensional Metrology, Pressure-Vacuum, RPM, Electrical, Time, Temperature, Mass and Volume parameter related Inspection, Measuring and Test Equipment Calibration, by catering the both In-house and On-site calibration facilities.

Laboratory is equipped with highly sophisticated and world-renowned calibration facilities for all the parameters for which Laboratory is capable to offer calibration services. Laboratory is in process of covering all other additional calibration facilities with scope of Accreditation, as one of the all times objective. GEC is now having chain of Laboratories within the country and overseas too.

PATHWAYS OF SUCCESS JOURNEY

1983	GATRAD ENGG. CORPN. is established as a small organization under less than one rented roof with an activity of repairing and servicing of Measuring Instruments and Equipments.
1985	Started trading of Measuring Instruments, manufactured by world-renowned manufacturers.
1987	Started disseminating knowledge on instrumentation to the Industries by establishing In-house facility for conducting trainings.
1994	GEC took innovative step to bring the technology and know-how of Dimensional Metrology Calibration & its requirement from UK NPL.
1997	GEC has established highly sophisticated & modern Calibration Lab in consultation with NPL-India Scientists & Experts.
1998	GEC has established a Quality Management System to structure the Laboratory operations in line with Accreditation requirement by meeting with ISO/IEC-Guide 25 and NABL-101 and applied for Accreditation.
2000	GEC became the first NABL Accredited Lab in Gujarat State in the field of Dimensional Metrology & Pressure Vacuum Metrology.
2003	Re-accredited as per ISO/IEC-17025 (1999) by adding Pressure Calibration facility for ON-SITE.
2005	Scope of Accreditation expanded by covering Temperature & Electrical parameters Calibration by re-accredited as per revised ISO/IFC-17025 (2005). Rajkot Laboratory started for Dimensional Metrology.
2006	On-site Facility developed for Temperature and Electrical parameters and covered under the scope of Accreditation. Overseas Laboratory established in KUWAIT.
2007	MASS and VOLUME parameters Calibration, covered under the scope of Accreditation.
